RCVS accredited practice

What Does It Mean to Be an RCVS Recognised Veterinary Hospital?
When choosing a veterinary practice, you want to know your animals are receiving the highest standards of care. One of the best indicators of this is accreditation through the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme (PSS).
At Clyde Vet Group, we are proud that both our Small Animal Hospital and our Equine Hospital are recognised by the RCVS as Veterinary Hospitals – the highest level of accreditation within the Practice Standards Scheme.

What is the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme?
The RCVS Practice Standards Scheme is a voluntary accreditation programme that independently assesses veterinary practices against rigorous standards of clinical care, patient safety, facilities and client service.
Practices are inspected regularly to ensure they maintain high standards in areas such as:
Clinical governance and patient safety
Staff training and professional development
Infection control and medicines management
Surgical and diagnostic facilities
Emergency and out-of-hours care
Continuous quality improvement
The scheme gives clients confidence that an accredited practice consistently exceeds the minimum standards expected of veterinary care.

What Does Hospital Status Mean?
Veterinary Hospital status is awarded only to practices that meet higher standards of facilities, equipment, staffing and clinical governance.
For you, this means your pet or horse is cared for by an experienced team supported by modern facilities, advanced equipment and robust clinical processes. It also means we continually review and improve the care we provide through regular audits, training and independent assessment.
