Tim Borthwick
Small Animal Director
PgCert(SAS) BVM&S MRCVSOriginally from Newcastle, Tim graduated from Edinburgh in 2014 and worked in mixed practice for two years before joining Clyde in 2016. He has a strong interest in surgery, especially orthopaedics. In his spare time, Tim enjoys looking after his young daughter and taking his dog Wally for walks with his wife Clare.

Niall Kenny
Small Animal Director
BSc MA PhD Vet MB MRCVSNiall originally worked as an academic, before qualifying in veterinary medicine from Cambridge University in 1995, moving north to Lanark the following year. He is currently working towards the RCVS certificate in small animal medicine, and has extensive interests in veterinary history, including serving as an advisor to several libraries. He is married with twin daughters.

Lynne McGregor
Small Animal Director
BVMS MRCVSLynne graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2007 and worked for five years in mixed practice in Cheshire before moving back to her roots in Lanarkshire to join the Clyde team in 2013. While she enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, she is particularly interested in internal medicine and cardiology. In her spare time, she likes keeping active and getting outdoors, as well as attempting to cook and the odd spot of retail therapy.

Jo Veitch
Small Animal Director
BVMS MRCVSJo graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2005 and worked in mixed practice for five years before concentrating on small animals. She then spent six years working in Hong Kong, before returning to Scotland with her young family and joining our team in 2018. She loves all aspects of general practice, and has an interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.

Lisa Barr
Vet
BVMS MRCVSLisa graduated from Edinburgh vet school in 2019 and has worked at Clyde Vets ever since. She enjoys all aspects of her role but has a particular interest in medicine. Outside of work, Lisa can usually be found socialising with friends or walking her dogs. She also enjoys climbing the occasional hill and travelling when she has the opportunity.

Nikki Hamilton

BVMS MRCVSNikki graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2022. After attending Clyde Vets for most of her student placement, she has joined our team to begin her journey as a Small Animal Vet! Nikki has a particular interest in surgery and emergency care. Outside of work, she enjoys walks with her dog Luca and socialising with family and friends.

Nicola Lawrie

BVMS MRCVSNicola is a Lanarkshire native who graduated from Glasgow University in 2023. During her final year, she gained hands-on experience with our Farm and Small Animal teams. Nicola’s keen interest in exotic medicine drives her ambition for further studies. Outside of academics, she’s a proud owner of 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 guinea pigs. In her free time, she enjoys crafts, roller skating, and nature walks.

BVMS CertAVP MRCVSMairi joined Clyde in 2017, after qualifying from Glasgow Vet School in 2014 and spending time in mixed practice in Newcastle, as well as New Zealand, where she worked with small animals, including the odd kiwi and penguin! Outside of the job, she loves being outdoors, skiing, tackling the occasional Munro and taking every opportunity to travel more.

Jenny Milner

BVM&S BSc MRCVS PgCertDent(WBIS)Jenny graduated from Edinburgh University in 2004, and after working in mixed practice for several years she joined Clyde in 2009. She has an interest in soft tissue surgery and holds a post graduate certificate in small animal dentistry. She has a particular interest in managing puppy malocclusions. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and 3 cats, mountain biking, hill walking and paddle boarding.

Megan Pierson

BVM&S BSc MRCVSOriginally from Southampton, Megan completed a degree in Biological Sciences at the Royal Veterinary College in 2019 and later moved to Scotland, where she graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 2023. She enjoys all aspects of general practice but has a particular interest in internal medicine cases. Outside of work Megan likes spending time with friends and family, as well as enjoying the walks Scotland has to offer.

Having grown up in Lanark, he was a well-known face in the practice even before this, completing work experience with us while at high school and again as a vet student. He has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery. Outside work, you’ll likely find him watching rugby, eating, or climbing the odd hill with his border collie, Mac.

Lindsay Rodenkirch

BVMS MRCVSOriginally from the USA, Lindsay graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2021 and joined Clyde Vet Group after working for a year in a Glasgow small animal practice. Amongst all aspects of general practice, she particularly favours imaging and creating a fear free experience for her patients. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the hills, travelling and cooking/baking delicious food. She also enjoys tending to her collection of plants.

Nicholas Sutherland

BVMS MRCVSNick graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 2021 and started with Clyde Vet Group small animal team in August 2021. He says that it’s been a fantastic start to his career! The team here have been great welcoming him and making him feel settled. Nick has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery but also enjoys working through medical cases. Outside of work, he spends his time playing rugby in Edinburgh and also enjoys running and cycling.

BVMS MRCVSHolly graduated from The University of Glasgow in 2017 prior to joining our team. She grew up in Malaga and speaks fluent Spanish. She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, especially soft tissue surgery and the occasional cuddle with her patients! Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, travelling abroad and exploring the wonderful scenery Scotland has to offer.

BVMS MRCVSEleanor joined Clyde Vets in August 2022. She graduated from Edinburgh University in 2020 and worked as a Small Animal Vet in Preston. She has since moved back to her home in Glasgow and is excited to start work at Clyde Vets! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends, family and doing anything outdoors.

Pamela Kay
Head Nurse
RVNPamela joined the practice in 2003 as a vet nursing assistant, progressing to become an RVN, and our head nurse in 2010. She particularly enjoys nurse consultations and puppy socialisation classes, while also having a keen interest in wound management and nutrition. Patient rehabilitation is another area of interest, in which she hopes to develop in the future.

Zoe Cramb
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNZoe started work experience at Clyde when she was 15 and soon got employed part-time at the weekends, and completed her university placement with us as well. Now she’s delighted to be with us full-time! At work, she has a keen interest in wound management and medical cases. Outside of work, Zoe enjoys horse riding, going for dog walks and spending time with her two cats, Louie and Mowgli. She is also obsessed with Boxer dogs!

Registered Veterinary NurseLisa has been part of the team since 2008 and is our resident crazy cat lady! She loves all aspects of her work, with a particular passion for orthopaedic nursing and radiography. At home, she has three chinchillas and nine ragdoll cats, as well as whatever waif or stray comes in and needs some TLC!

Melissa Kerr

RVNMelissa started out volunteering with us after school in 2015, and has never left! She is studying to become a veterinary nurse and enjoys every aspect of the job, especially working with older patients. Outside work she enjoys spending much of her time outside, walking her dog Buddy, skiing and taking any opportunity to travel.

Fiona Main
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNFiona qualified as a Small Animal Nurse in 1998, working in Inverness before embarking on a career as an Equine nurse in Newmarket. Fiona returned to Clyde Vets in 2005 and now shares her time between small animal and on call equine nurse duties. Outside of work, Fiona enjoys walking her dogs and during the winter months, she can be found snowboarding or on the ice rink as she is a keen curler with Lanark Curling club.

Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNNicola qualified from Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) barony campus in November 2017 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She joined Clyde Vet Group at our Wishaw branch in July 2021. Nicola has a keen interest in diagnostic imaging and surgical nursing. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and going for walks in the countryside with her dog Alfie.

RVNLisa joined Clyde Vets in July 2021 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse where she works in both our Lesmahagow and Wishaw branch. She studied Veterinary Nursing at SRUC Barony and has been qualified for 4 years. She loves nurse consults, in particular, behaviour and weight clinics. At home, she has a dog (Milo), 2 guinea pigs (Peaches & Gucci) and 2 fish (Malibu & Pineapple).

Carla Nisbet

RVNCarla joined the practice in 2017, and graduated later that year as an RVN. She enjoys all parts of the job, especially nursing inpatients back to health. Outside of work she enjoys walking with her dogs and also plays and tutors in her local pipe band as a tenor drummer.

RVNLindsay joined Clyde in 2014 as a nursing assistant, and is currently studying for her diploma in vet nursing at college. She enjoys all aspects of working with small animals. Outside work she enjoys walking with her dog, spending time with her horses, and helping out at a riding school.

Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNIona graduated from Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) Barony campus with a First Class Honours in August 2023. She is originally from the Isle of Islay, but recently relocated to Lanark following her graduation. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing but holds a particular interest in surgical nursing and animal behaviour, especially canine separation anxiety which served as her honours project topic. Outside of work, Iona enjoys horse riding, running, and exploring the countryside with her crazy spaniels.

RVNLynn joined us in 2016 as a nursing assistant and has since qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
She has always worked with animals and has a cat and dog of her own at home. Outside of work, she’s a busy mum of two and enjoys hillwalking. Last year she climbed Ben Nevis! -
Fiona Sirrell
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNFiona qualified as an RVN in 2007 and worked in the Auchenheath branch for a year covering maternity leave, and returned again in 2015 to work part time. She is now part of the team in Lesmahagow. In her spare time, she enjoys going on walks with her family and her blind dog Sam, and knitting – when the cat Willow leaves the wool alone!

RVNAlyth joined our Wishaw team at Clyde Vet Group in 2021 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She graduated from the North Highland College in Thurso in the December of 2019. Her professional interests are in feline medicine and exotics. At home, Alyth has 2 cats, 1 rabbit and a Jack Russel pup!

At home, Amanda has 2 cats Hugo & Lola (who run the house) and in her free time, she enjoys horse riding.

Kimberley has been working at Clyde Vet Group since March 2017. She loves taking her dog for a walk and going on scenic walks with friends. Outside of work, she loves watching horrors and comedies and attending festivals and concerts. To keep fit, she attends boxercise classes. Kimberley is also keen on helping out with the Wellbeing group here at Clyde Vets.

Caroline joined Clyde back in 1999 as a Nursing Assistant and loves her job just as much as she did when she first started! At home, she is kept busy tending to her six sheep, five ducks, fivehens, a cat and a dog! Whenever she gets some free time, she loves to go for long walks with her dog.

Laura joined Clyde Vet’s in 2017 as a Small Animal Kennel Assistant. Her role includes helping look after any patients, caring for day patients that come in surgery, and assisting Vets in consults. Laura loves every aspect of her job even though it can get a bit messy sometimes! In her free time, she likes to spend time with family and friends and go walks with her Jack Russell, Scout.

Jennifer King
Lanark Reception Manager
Jennifer started at Clyde Vets in 2010 as a part-time Farm Receptionist which quickly led on to full-time. 6 years later, she was promoted to Reception Manager. Since then, the reception team has more than doubled, having merged both the Small Animal and Farm Departments. Outside of work, Jennifer loves a night out or night in with friends. She has a son who keeps her very busy. They love cooking together and adventuring outdoors! She also loves going to the gym and going for long walks.

Lanark Reception Manager
Areatha joined Clyde in 2010 as a receptionist, continuing her 25 year career in the role. By 2016 she became a line manager for small animal and farm colleagues. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, including her two dogs, Stella and Hope. She is definitely the mum of Clyde Vets, looking after – and feeding – everybody!

Hazel Irvine
Wishaw Branch Manager
Over thirty years have flown past working within our small animal department for Hazel. Her main role is co-managing the busy Wishaw surgery, especially focusing on insurance. She loves being able to meet all of the animals in our care, and is particularly interested in improving our client care. At home she has a dog, Casey, and three fast-growing boys!

Suzanne has been in the veterinary profession since the 1990s, initially as a mixed practice nursing assistant, before moving into management. At home she has a wee ginger guinea pig called Ron and enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, watching movies, going out for dinner and exercise classes.

Amy has loved every minute of her job since joining us in 2020, especially the chance to meet all of the animals who come into the practice! When she is not at work, she spends time with her fun, loving, energetic miniature goldendoodle, Ollie.

Nicola joined Clyde Vet Group in August 2022. She has worked in the farming industry since leaving school, mainly within Auction Marts, and enjoys working on her family farm where she has her own flock of sheep and a few cattle. Nicola likes to spend any spare time she has baking for friends and family, and playing with her dogs and cats, so she is loving all the puppy cuddles from clients!

Catriona joined Clyde Vets in 2022 after 20+ years in the travel industry and the last 18 months with NHS Lanarkshire. Catriona loves animals and is enjoying every minute working at reception meeting, greeting and cuddling all the lovely fur babies that come to the practice. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her loved ones and traveling as much as possible.

In September 2023, Jessie is going to Glasgow University to study Veterinary Medicine. She has her own flock of sheep and has worked at farms over the years, taking part in lambings and doing the milking. When she is not working or studying, Jessie is an active member of Lanark Young Farmers and also enjoys being outdoors, particularly running.

Jenna Knight
Receptionist
Jenna started her career in animal care working at the Dog’s Trust as a canine carer. While there, she gained a certificate in Small Animal Nutrition Training & Canine Nutrition. In 2017, she joined Edinburgh University as an Animal Care Assistant. Jenna then joined Clyde Vets in November 2020. Outside of work, Jenna is in world of hobby confirmation showing with her Dalmatian, and placed in the yearling class at Crufts 2020. While Jenna will never say no to a puppy cuddle, she has a soft spot for OAP patients.

Laura joined our reception team in 2020, continuing a career in the veterinary industry that started in 2000 as a nursing assistant. She also spent time working in the financial industry, but joined Clyde after missing all of the animals. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her family along with looking after her two dogs, Layla and Lacey, and her son’s rabbit Reggie.

Janice joined Clyde Vet Group in June 2021. Previously, she had worked for the government since leaving school but always had a passion to work in an animal environment. She has now found her ideal job and loves seeing all the animals that come into the practice! Outside of work, she enjoys days out with her Golden Retriever, Holly, and her younger brother Bailey who she looks after during the week. Janice also has an interest in classic cars, attending as many car shows as she can.

Hannah joined Clyde Vets in November 2021 after moving back to Scotland from living in England. She is really enjoying working in small animal reception team! Alison joined our Lanark reception team in 2021. She has always wanted to work with animals and originally wanted to join the RSPCA but becoming a wife, a mum of two and relocating to Scotland meant that it was put on hold. However, she has now fulfilled her dream of working with animals, even if it’s just front of house! In her spare time, Alison enjoys gardening, spending time with friends and family, and walking her Labradoodle, Dylan.

Carol joined Clyde Vets in 2016 as a Receptionist. She used to work in the hotel sector and now thinks she has the best job ever seeing all the fur babies that come into the practice! She loves dogs and has two Westies of her own, Isla and Lola, with whom she loves to take for walks. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her friends.
