Meet the TeamVeterinary SurgeonsRod MacGregor BVM&S MRCVS Niall Kenny BSc MA PhD Vet MB MRCVS is one of the partners responsible for the small animal division of the practice. Although originally working as an academic he subsequently qualified in Veterinary Medicine from Cambridge University in 1995. After a brief spell in Kent as a pure large animal veterinary assistant he came North to Lanark in 1996, gradually finding his forte in small animal practice. He has been involved solely in small animal work for the last 6 years, and is currently working towards the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Small Animal Medicine. He also has extensive interests in veterinary history and is currently an advisor to several historical veterinary libraries. Niall is married with twin daughters. Hans-Joachim Lambert Vienna: MRCVS is the remaining small animal partner and graduated from the University of Vienna in September 1998. Following positions with veterinary practices as far afield as Yorkshire and Elgin, Hans joined the Clyde Vet Group in November 2002. Hans' specialist areas are orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, and he is currently working towards his Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. Susan Joel BVM&S MRCVS qualified
from Edinburgh’s Dick Vet School in July 1999. After graduating
she worked in the South West of England for over 4 years, before taking
a year off, during which time she worked (and travelled!) in Australia,
New Zealand and South Africa. Elaine Stewart BSc BVM&S MRCVS has worked with the Clyde Veterinary Group since 2004, having come to us from a background in Immunology and Microbiology before becoming a veterinary surgeon. She currently is specialising in small animal medicine and surgery. When asked to describe herself for this site the adjectives ‘tall’, ‘tall’ and ‘tall’ were used, along with a requirement for good coffee, scarves and sugar-free gum. Jacqueline Quinn BSc BVMS MRCVS has been with the practice since 2004. She graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in Zoology, as well as Veterinary Medicine. She specialises in small animal medicine and surgery, and has a keen interest in oncology (cancer medicine). Maaike McDiarmid Utrecht: MRCVS has been working as a veterinary surgeon in mixed practice in the UK since November 2000. She joined us in 2003 as a part-time member of the team. She finds that the training she gets at home caring for two babies equips her well for dealing with other animals at our practice. Mirjam Coert Utrecht: MRCVS is another of our Dutch vets and has worked in the practice for the last ten years. Although begining as a mixed practice veterinary surgeon she has since seen the light and has devoted herself solely to small animal practice for the last four years, specialising in acupuncture. In her spare time she enjoys riding, walking her dog (Squire) and gardening.
