The Small Animal Division of the Clyde Veterinary Group was formed on the 1st  of August 2003 following the merger of Acorn Veterinary Centre and Clyde Valley Veterinary Centre.

The  practice is divided into three divisions each of which runs separately, i.e. equine, farm and small animal. The main part of the practice, including the Lanark small animal branch, moved in  August 2005 to new custom-built premises on a 2.5 acre site at the New Lanark Market on Hyndford Road.

We treat all forms of first opinion problems in cats, dogs, small mammal pets, birds, fish and reptiles. The team of small animal veterinary clinicians is led by Rod McGregor, with Niall Kenny and Hans Lambert as small animal partners, and Jacqui Quinn, Elaine Stewart, Sue Joel, Mirjam Coert and Maaike McDiarmid as the assistants. The practice also actively promotes the development of qualified veterinary nursing staff, and our team of excellent nurses is lead by Fiona Robb.

As well as performing the full range of routine medicine and surgery, we also use
x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, ECG, laser treatment, hydrotherapy, nuclear scintigraphy (bone scanning), acupuncture, extracorporeal shock therapy and a well-equipped in-house laboratory to assist in our treatment and diagnostic capabilities. Separate kenneling is provided for cats and dogs, with full hospitalisation facilities, and a purpose built operating theatre and surgical preparation room. We also provide a specialist in-house cardiology service.

The small animal division aims to offer a prompt, professional, efficient  and compassionate service to our clients and their pets, as well  as pursuing the goal of clinical excellence.
