Andrew McDiarmid: equine vetAndrew McDiarmid BVM&S Cert ES (Orth) MRCVS has been the partner responsible for the equine side of the practice since 2003.  He qualified from Edinburgh in 1988 and worked initially at the Liphook Equine Hospital in Hampshire. Andrew joined the Royal (Dick) Veterinary School in Edinburgh in 1990, first as the ILPH Resident in Equine Orthopaedics, then undertook a lecturers position before becoming a senior lecturer and head of Large Animal Orthopaedics.  Between 1994 and 2000 Andrew was on a three-person rota providing the emergency equine surgery service at the University of Edinburgh. He left Edinburgh in 2000 to work in equine practice in Gloucestershire.  Andrew’s area of expertise is equine lameness on which he has published many original scientific papers and has lectured at numerous veterinary conferences around the world. He has been chief examiner for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons certificate exams. Andrew is married with a young daughter and son.

Louise Cornish: equine vetLouise Cornish BVMS Cert EP MRCVS graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1998.  Louise has worked in Ireland and in an equine practice in Australia and upon her return to Scotland joined us at Lanark in 2002. She is a keen horse rider and competed in carriage driving events in her earlier years.  In 2007 Louise obtained the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Equine Practice. Her main areas of interest are studwork (including AI), anaesthesia, internal medicine and geriatrics. Louise is the senior equine assistant and is currently responsible for all equine anaesthetics and AI at Clyde Vet Group

Luanne HuntLuanne Hunt BSc (Hons) BVM&S MS DACVIM MRCVS graduated from Edinburgh Veterinary School in 2000. Following 3 years in equine practice she moved to the USA to undertake a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota. She remained there until 2006 and became a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Following a brief period of time in practice post residency she then moved to Dublin Vet School where she undertook a residency in Large Animal Surgery. In 2011 she will sit her European College of Veterinary Surgeons Diploma in Large Animal Surgery. The breadth of specialisation that Luanne provides to Clyde Vet Group is a major boost to our referral services, in particular in soft tissue surgery and medicine..

Will Marshall Equine VetWill Marshall BVMS MRCVS a farmers son from Angus, Will qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2005. Having spent 2 years in mixed practice in Mauchline, Ayrshire he then moved to the well remowned Equine Hospital in Arundel where he became a popular and well respected equine vet. Outside work Will is a keen rugby player. In 2005, Will ran three and a half marathons in six days in Siberia, Russia to raise funds for Russian Orphans. Will is very keen on racing work and lameness investigations.

Allison Pender Equine VetAlison Pender BVMS MRCVS graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2008. Following graduation she moved to London where she worked as an intern in the equine hospital at the Royal Veterinary College. After 12 months she moved back up to Scotland and worked in mixed practice focusing mostly on the equine side. She enjoys all aspects of equine work although her main interests lie in anaesthesia and surgery. Outside of work Alison enjoys playing tennis and walking her Labrador, Presley.

Susan Donaldson Equine VetSusan Donaldson BVMS MRCVS graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2006 and has worked in equine general practice in Scotland since, joining Clyde Vet Group in March 2011. She is currently studying for a Royal College Certificate in Equine Internal Medicine, although she is interested in most areas of equine practice, including reproduction. Outside of work, Susan enjoys riding her horse Chester and walking her two Jack Russell terriers, Finn and Lily.

Geoff Lane Equine Vet

Geoff Lane BVetMed DESTS FRCVS Graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1969. After a period in mixed practice in Berkshire he moved to Bristol University to undergo training as an ENT Surgeon & gaining his Fellowship of the Royal College in 1974 and  remaining at the University for 30 years. He is a recognised RCVS Specialist in Soft Tissue Surgery and was a BEVA President in 1989. Since 1998 he has carried out consulting work for private referral practices and performs several hundred upper respiratory tract procedures each year.

 

 

Sandy Beveridge and Stuart Armstrong

Sandy Beveridge FWCF, has practiced farriery for the past twenty nine years. He gained his fellowship of the Worshipful Company of Farriers in 1989 and has been an Examiner for the Company for the last twenty years. 

Stewart Armstrong FWCF, has practiced farriery for the past sixteen years and gained the Fellowship of the Worship Company of Farriers in 2005 making him the youngest person to gain this exam. He has recently been invited by the Worshipful Company to be an examiner and has competed with success at both local and international level.

 

 

Dr David Sutton

 

Dr David Sutton MA Vet MB Cert EM (Int. Med.), PhD, MRCVS qualified from Cambridge Vet School in 1995. He worked in general practice in Yorkshire for 2 years prior to undertaking a 2-year residency at Glasgow University. During the residency programme he obtained the Certificate in Equine Medicine (Internal Medicine). David remained at Glasgow to undertake a PhD in liaison with Texas A&M University on equine gastrointestinal motility, physiology and pharmacology. Following the PhD he moved to South Africa to take the position of senior medicine clinician in the equine hospital of the University of Pretoria. David is currently undertaking the European College of Vet Surgeons Diploma in Equine Internal Medicine.
